Animal adoptions make great gifts!
Thank you for your interest in helping our animals through the Aquariums’ Adopt-an-Animal program! You can select from five of our most popular display specimens, and choose the level of support you wish to provide. Your tax-deductible contribution will help the Aquariums feed, care for and display these animals for one full year. We appreciate your help!

Each kit features an official certificate of adoption, an animal fact card with photos, and specialized window decals. Our most popular kits also come with a cuddly plush animal, outfitted with its own hooded sweatshirt!
Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll mail your adoption kit within a few days to the recipient address you provide. If you need an order to arrive by a specific date, or have questions about your order, please call us at 800-832-FISH (3474). If you’d like to adopt an animal and pick up the kit the same day, skip the online order and visit your nearest NC Aquarium!
Shipping is free for orders in the United States. International orders, including those mailed to Canada, require a $30.00 shipping and handling fee. Please call 800-832-FISH(3474) to place international orders.
Please note, all adopted animals remain in the care and custody of the NC Aquariums and no ownership rights are conferred. Should your adopted animal be removed from our collection, your sponsorship can be transferred to another animal for the remainder of the year. Due to their popularity, animals may have multiple "parents."
Your Adopt-An-Animal gift is tax deductible, and below are the Fair Market Value rates for our adoption kits. We recommend you consult your tax professional regarding contributions to the NC Aquarium Society.
