Summer Day Camps

Does your child want to experience summer camp at the Aquarium but can't spend the whole week with us? Then these are the summer camps  for them. We are offering Summer Day Camps July 3, 5, 6, and 7, 2023. You can sign up for one  or more days of these fun filled camps. A different theme will be offered each day. Our Summer Day Camps run from 8:30am-3:00pm. These camps are for ages 5-12. A snack and lunch are provided.
$56 per Non-Member, $51 per  Member.

Day Camps

Summer Day Camp-Woodland Wonders

Woodland Wonders:

Did you know that forests cover about 60% of the state of North Carolina? Come explore the wonders of our local woods during this day camp! Children will explore the wooded areas surrounding the aquarium, such as our gardens, maritime forest, and bike path. Campers will not only learn about the amazing plants and animals that inhabit these woods, but they will also learn how they are all connected and how important these habitats are. Kids will also get to see some woodland creatures up close and personal, such as frogs and snakes. A snack and lunch are provided.

Summer Day Camp-Exploring Freshwater

Exploring Freshwater:

There are many amazing freshwater habitats in North Carolina, including rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams. Campers will learn about what makes each of these ecosystems unique, as well as the plants and animals that live there. They will also explore the freshwater habitats surrounding the aquarium and meet some live freshwater inhabitants, such as turtles, alligators, and freshwater fish. A snack and lunch are provided.

Summer Day Camp-Salt Marsh Inhabitants

Salt Marsh Inhabitants:

Campers will learn all about our salt marsh habitats and why they are important. They will hike through the marsh and discover plants and animals found in this rich environment. Campers will also explore a maritime forest, pull a seine or dip net though the marsh, and discover the importance of dunes, marsh grasses, and food webs.  A snack and lunch are provided.

Summer Day Camp-Amazing Ocean

Amazing Ocean:

Come explore the beauty and intrigue of our oceans and the animals that live in them. Kids will get to see and learn about our ocean animals here at the aquarium, such as sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, and jellies. They will also have a chance to go to the beach and search for animals along the shoreline, as well as swim in the ocean and play fun games. A snack and lunch are provided.
