Scouts get hands-on experience doing lab activities with a field exploration to a local beach where participants will have the opportunity to explore the physics of waves and sample the waters for local flora and fauna. The Aquarium staff for this program are not registered Merit Badge Counselors with the Boys Scouts of America.
Scouts will discover the amazing adaptations of sea turtles, and why they are so important in our oceans. They will learn about different kinds of turtles, witness how amazing they are by seeing the sea turtles in our Aquarium, and even get to take home their very own sea turtle craft! They will also go out onto the beach to pick up trash, and learn other ways they can help these fascinating creatures.

In this program, scouts will learn the difference between these two awesome animal groups. Scouts will discover what makes each group unique by observing some reptiles and amphibians in our care, as well as searching for them in the habitats surrounding the Aquarium. Activities include a live animal program, water quality lab, and a life cycle craft. Scouts will also learn about the ways we care for these animals, and different things they can do at home to help these animals.
