Shoreline Restoration

Shoreline Restoration

Date: May 25, 2023

9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Where: North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Recommended for ages 8 and up. The Aquarium is partnering with the North Carolina Coastal Federation to restore shorelines along our local salt marshes. Join us for a morning of muddy fun as we re-plant marsh grass in the Roosevelt Natural Area surrounding the Aquarium! All volunteers will receive a coupon for a frozen treat from Dairy Queen as a thank you.

Volunteers should wear weather-appropriate clothes that can get wet and dirty. Closed-toe shoes that cover the foot and can get wet and muddy are required. Volunteers should also bring a water bottle, hat, bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses, and any snacks or medications they may need. Water (to refill your water bottle), gloves, and planting tools will be provided.
