Have fun in the sun and dive into science to explore aquatic ecosystems on the Outer Banks! Explore the “splash” intertidal zone at the beach, muck around for crabs in the salt marsh, and go kayaking behind the tallest, active living sand dunes at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Open your eyes to oysters by visiting the Coastal Federation and learning about the three F’s: food, filter and fish habitat. Other exciting activities include aquarium tour time, fishing, a fish or squid dissection, and visiting with some of our animal ambassadors. Wrap up the week with a little friendly competition in Beach Olympics!
