Learn basic skills necessary to catch fish. Topics covered in the program include species that are commonly found around the pier, a lesson on fish identification, how to cast and tie your rigs as well as catch and release techniques.

Bring the little anglers in your life to the pier to learn the basics of fishing. First, they learn to cast while playing Back Yard Bass on the beach. They then try their luck on the pier, fishing with an educator.

Ages 3 to 8

Cost: $8 per child

Thursdays 6 p.m.

Drop off the kids with a Jennette’s Pier educator for an evening of food, fun and learning. The kids enjoy pizza, crafts and an educational program, while mom and dad go out for a night on the town.

Ages 4 and up

Cost: $30 per child

Work with the pier’s aquarist and go behind the scenes to see what the fish eat and learn about the skills and techniques necessary to be an aquarist. Help out with daily activities including feeding the fish and testing water quality samples. *Must register day before program by 4 p.m.
